In this laboratory practice lesson, the following subjects were addressed: i) Paracentrotus lividus - General aspects; ii) Morphology and Anatomy; iii) Digestive, Water Vascular and Reproductive Systems - Development; iv) Research Areas; v) Techniques for Spawning Induction and vi) Observation of exclusion membrane and ELS (4-arm plutei). Moreover, the students performed the spawning induction and in vitro fertilization of this species, besides observing this species early life stages of development.

In this laboratory practice lesson, the following subjects were addressed: i) LSS - definition; ii) What is your objective? - Species ecology; iii) LSS configurations and iv) Besides equipment - Water quality/monitoring. Moreover, the students also performed: i) seawater quality analysis (Detection of Total ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels); ii) Temperature, salinity and pH measurements and assessment; iii) PAR and LUX measurements and assessment; iv) Profilux operation.
