Explanation of the main goal of epistemology, namely the discipline that studies the nature of knowledge and the conditions (if any) that define knowledge. Different kinds of knowledge and focus on   propositional, which is of particular interest for epistemologists. We addressed the question: what is a proposition? A proposition is defined as the content of a sentence, and it is seen as an abstract entity (while the sentence that expresses it is generally considered as a concrete entity). Discussion on abstract and concrete entities. A way of classifying (abstract/concrete) entities in terms of abstraction is given. Necessary/sufficient conditions. Modal status of propositions ( De dicto modality) and species of possibilities.
