The assessment framework combines practical application with theoretical evaluation, allocating: - 70%: Technical report following a field visit to the RAEGE (Red Atlántica de Estaciones Geodinámicas y Espaciales) radio telescope. Students synthesise their field experience by documenting telescope operations, receiver configurations, calibration routines (including hot/cold load calibrations and noise diode injections), and single-dish data reduction techniques. This report evaluates the students' ability to process real astronomical observations, calculate system noise temperatures, apply the radiometer equation, and interpret spectral line or continuum data. - 30%: Written examination. An exam testing mastery of the core course concepts, including heterodyne receiver architecture, antenna beam patterns, main-beam efficiency, pointing verifications, and target mapping methodologies.
