Só para passar este anúncio (que infelizmente só recebi hoje de um colega). Na quarta e na sexta vamos ter seminários no LIP sobre machine learning. Infelizmente não vou poder estar na quarta porque tenho aulas.
Também podem estar interessados num evento amanhã às 17h30 na Biblioteca Nacional.

This week we will have the meeting of the AMVA4NewPhysics network at LIP. As part of the meeting there will be a few events that may be of interest to our community.

This is an Outreach event. The event "Inteligencia Artificial & Machine Learning" will take place at Biblioteca Nacional this Tuesday.

As part of the meeting, we will also have two seminars:
- Wednesday, Oct. 31, 16h00
"Introduction to Machine Learning and its applications" (Tommaso Dorigo, Giles Strong, 45 mins)
This seminar is divided into an introduction to discuss what is machine learning and how it applies to a wide range of problems both in and outside research (T. Dorigo, 15 mins), followed by an informal journal-style presentation on a "disciplined approach to neural network hyper-parameters (arxiv.org/abs/1803.09820)" (G. Strong, 30 mins)
