We first revisited SVMs and then use an example of Face Recognition to explore parameter setting using grid search and classification performance in train and test using a confusion matrix together with several evaluation metrics.

We first revisited Linear Models for classification, started in the last practical, revising Logistic Regression and now focusing on Linear SVMs. We then introduced the kernel trick and Kernelized SVMs, usually referred simply as SMVs.
