Objectivos
Students should acquire a solid knowledge on the subject, and be enabled to handle and apply the learned tools at a research level, in related mathematical disciplines.
Programa
Topics in geometry and topology of manifolds and/or varieties with extra structures. These will be selected from the following: Riemannian geometry, complex analytic/algebraic geometry, Lie sphere geometry, Schubert calculus, Grassmannian geometry, symplectic geometry and topology, gauge theory and vector bundles.
Métodos de ensino e avaliação
Classes will have a strong expository component on the blackboard and a part dedicated to problem solving. Evaluation will consist of a final exam and possible weekly homework assignments.
